While there are many different kinds of toys out there, from dolls, to electronic toys and games, and other fun toys, eco-friendly toys can be a great holiday gift.

The answer is actually pretty simple. Eco-friendly toys are generally made up of materials that are better for the earth. They are generally made up of sustainable sources, renewable woods, or recycled materials.

Eco-friendly toys, being made up of these more natural materials, are better for children to be around as they do not have any kind of harmful chemicals, paints, and other worrisome materials.

Instead of giving your child plastic playing blocks to build with, you can opt to give them wooden pieces that they can use to create all kinds of castles and structures from their imagination. You would be surprised at just how many consumers are taking part in this shift to buy more eco-friendly products. An international study by Unilever showed that one-third of consumers prefer brands based on their social and environmental impact. With all of the environmental issues we are facing, opting to purchase eco-friendly toys for our children can really help our sustainability efforts as as society.

It is very common in younger generations to want to buy products from companies that are more socially conscious. In fact, according to a recent poll, 38% of 1,000 millennial consumers said they would ?respond positively? to eco-friendly products.

Eco-friendly products do not stop at toys. There are organic sheets, natural organic baby products, and towels. Sales of organic products that were not food related were up 8.8% in the U.S. in 2016.

Organic baby products include natural lotions and soaps for your baby’s skin that will not cause rashes and outbreaks, and are not filled with artificial ingredients and dyes like many other products available on the market. By switching to eco-friendly products, you can keep your family safer from harmful ingredients and chemicals (even in shampoos!) and other harmful materials that toys and bedding might contain as well.
