We Know Its Gross, But We All Need To Know How To Be Proper Lice Removers

Head Lice affect most kids in the family. The only way to get head lice is to come into head-to-head contact with someone who has them. It is widely assumed that if your hair is very dirty, you are more likely to get head lice. However, head lice infections are unrelated to cleanliness. Listed below are common lice removers.

Treatment
Treatment for head lice is advised for those identified with an active infection.

All household members and others in close contact should be checked and be treated.

Wet combing
Wet combing can be used to eliminate lice and nits. You can purchase head lice combs at pharmacies and some supermarket chains. The comb’s teeth should be slightly wider than the hair. More than one comb may be required, beginning with a wide-tooth comb and progressing to narrower and narrower combs. There are instructions on the lice removal package, but you should usually:

Shampoo your hair as usual.
Use a lot of conditioners (any conditioner will do).
Comb through your entire head of hair, beginning at the roots and working your way to the ends.

Dimethicone
Dimethicones are silicon oils that are colorless, odorless, and repellent to water. They can be volatile (thinner and vaporize faster) or dense (thick in consistency). They are widely used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, hair care, perfume, and toothpaste.
